To assess, investigate and manage patients presenting to A&E and related services.
To follow Clinical Practice Guidelines, hospital protocols, and care pathways.
To perform procedures within competency.
To refer patients to appropriate consultants when required.
To ensure proper handover of patients between shifts.
To elevate and refer patients to the Emergency Physician on duty (if available), particularly for patients in the red zone, unstable conditions, or those not responding to initial management.
To attend all emergency calls (Code Blue, Rapid Response Team activation, ward emergencies, and acutely-ill patient hospital-wide).
To assist in inpatient and outpatient clinical care when required.
To accompany patients during transfer when necessary.
To manage death cases in accordance with hospital policy.
