Perform and supervision of blood collection and dispatch properly labeled specimens to the laboratory in accordance with laboratory protocols and standard universal precautions.
Navigate Laboratory Information System to perform functions such as order entry (only if required), sample receipt, result query and result entry.
Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders (i.e. Lab, Nursing, Clinicians, admin) to improve workflow and processes of the section.
Perform laboratory test or POCT if assigned. Perform all procedures in accordance with laboratory protocols. Alert appropriate personnel of critical values with relevant documentation.
Undertake preventive maintenance on laboratory instrumentation and safety equipment. Notify appropriate personnel when these instruments malfunction.
