Position Overview
Medical Laboratory Scientist Hematology
Perform and analyze clinical laboratory tests in all laboratory disciplines by standard operating policies and procedures. Understand method principles, perform quality control, preventative maintenance, review and analyze results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
In West Virginia: Medical Laboratory Scientist license or Trainee license.
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology/Medical (Clinical) Laboratory Science or Bachelorβs degree in a chemical or biological science, or 30 or more years of previous experience concurrent with CLIA grandfathered exception.
Certification as a Medical Technologist/ Medical Lab Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Experience as a Medical Technologist.
Set up, run, maintain, and adjust laboratory instruments according to policies and procedures.
