Description

The Medical Lab Assistant is responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, cleaning and maintaining equipment and providing support services to the Lab.

Responsibilities

• The lab assistant performs laboratory duties and/or procedures, requiring adaptation of methods and procedures.
• Collecting blood, performing ECGs, setting up and assisting with stress tests.
• Problem‑solving minor equipment problems.
• Handling loop monitors, heart monitors, and blood pressure monitors.
• Frequent contact with coworkers onsite and at alternate sites, physicians, suppliers and patients.
• Responding to emergency codes.
• Performing responsibilities within the blood banking process.
• Backing entering results from referred out tests, ECGs, and pathologies.
