Medical Lab Assistant

This role will be working with urine and blood. People will have to be comfortable handling human specimen. The lab assistants will be opening and sorting samples, collecting samples, inputting information into lab information system, verifying patient information, additional responsibilities include cutting and coating the kit samples, as well as collect all samples label and prep them for the techs, as well as enter the kits data into the system when the techs have completed testing.

Responsibilities

• Receive and quarantine all incoming specimen packages in accordance with established laboratory protocols.
• Open and sort specimens, ensuring each sample is routed to the appropriate workflow or department.
• Check all specimens against acceptance criteria and identify any issues that could affect testing quality.
