About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing optometry practice, is seeking a Medical Billing Coordinator with direct optometry billing experience. This role is critical to the success of the practice’s revenue cycle and requires a strong understanding of the nuances between medical and vision billing.

This is not a general medical billing position—candidates must have hands-on experience billing within an optometry or ophthalmology setting.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities

+ Accurately submit and manage claims for both vision and medical insurance carriers (e.g., VSP, Eyemed, Medicare, commercial insurers)

+ Navigate the complexities between routine vision exams vs. medical eye care billing

+ Ensure accurate use of CPT and ICD-10 codes specific to optometry services

+ Verify patient benefits and clearly distinguish between vision and medical coverage
