Job Purpose

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be working in a working shipyard and will be responsible for the mechanical upgrade, repair and refit in relation to projects on site. Duties to (include but not limited to) - installation and removal of mechanical equipment, operation of machinery and inspections/monitoring during operation. Alignment of machinery and drive chain to set tolerances using optical equipment. 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Dismantle and re-assemble mechanical assemblies.
• Inspect equipment and identify faulty components.
• Carry out preventative maintenance work on plant and equipment.
• Align equipment to set tolerances
• Test pipework and systems, commission systems.
• Assist other disciplines when required.
• Experience with overhead cranes and lifting equipment
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
