Our client based in New Zealand is seeking to appoint a full-time Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon with demonstrated expertise in cardiothoracic surgery.

This is an opportunity to join a progressive and collaborative cardiothoracic service committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the continuum of treatment. The Hospital provides cardiac services for approximately 1.2 million patients in the central region of New Zealand spanning from Nelson to Hawkes Bay. They have active aortic, mitral, arrhythmia, thoracic and general cardiothoracic programmes.

The service works collaboratively with vascular specialists in care of patients with complex vascular aortic pathology. They work closely with cardiology to deliver a growing structural heart programme. An interest in teaching is important, and they are accredited for 2 RACS SET trainees for 2 years each and are supported by a total of 10 Resident Medical Officers (8 registrars and 2 House Surgeon).
