Summary The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for general maintenance and repair requirements as established by the Maintenance Supervisor, Supervisory General Engineer, or Chief, Facilities Management Service, for the James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Work is assigned on a long-term as well as on a day-to-day basis. Employee will exercise judgement in prioritizing assignments to subordinates unless otherwise directed. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Measuring, cutting and constructing using standard building materials. Independently pan and complete projects that involve constructing, altering, repairing and/or modifying framework, rafters, doors, finished paneling, windows, rough furniture, interior/exterior trim, staircases, trusses and beams.
