An ideal candidate would be well-versed in the following: fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs the mechanical systems and components of ships, submarines, and other marine vessels. This position requires expertise with machine tools, precision instruments, and technical drawings to ensure the safe and efficient operation of propulsion systems and auxiliary equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and written specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses, to fabricate or repair parts.
• Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier gauges, calipers) to verify accuracy of machined parts.
