The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care under the direction and supervision of provider, registered nurse, or clinical care coordinator as prescribed by the New York State Practice Act. The LPN provides patient information to the health care team that influences the planning, provision, and evaluation of patient care. LPNs provide compassionate care that is respectful of each patient's needs, values and wishes. Under the direction of the RN or LIP, the LPN administers medications and vaccinations, observes, measures, records, and reports clinical data relating to a patient's health status.
