Position Overview
Description
The OSP Fiber Puller is responsible for installing and pulling fiber‑optic cable through underground conduit systems, handholes, manholes, and other outside plant pathways. This role involves physical labor, safe operation of pulling equipment, and close coordination with OSP construction crews to ensure successful cable installation for telecom networks. Responsibilities include cable handling, equipment operation, site preparation, and adherence to rigorous safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Fiber Pulling & Installation
Pull and route fiber‑optic cables through pre-installed conduit systems, ducts, and underground pathways.
Handle and organize fiber cables carefully to prevent twisting, kinking, or damage during installation.
Operate fiber‑pulling machinery such as winches and mechanical cable pullers to facilitate long‑distance conduit pulls.
