Long Term Care Assistant – Halifax Campus

The LTCA are part of the team of staff working on the resident house. They work closely with CCAs, LPN, RN, housekeeping staff and CSA teams. In partnership with the recreation therapy programmers, the LTCA assists residents in meeting their daily goals as part of the resident care plan.

Qualifications

• GED
• Experience working in Long Term Care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support residents in individualized psychosocial activities to meet resident needs outside of personal care activities, under the guidance of the recreation therapy team as per the resident recreation therapy plan.
• Implement and assist in the implementation of house‑based recreation therapy programs.
• Assist in large group recreation therapy programs both within the facility and in the community.
