Summary Corrections professionals who foster a humane and secure environment and ensure public safety by preparing individuals for successful reentry into our communities. Responsibilities Provides knowledge of security equipment which directly affects each area of the institution. Analyzes mechanical, electrical, locking systems, engineering blueprints, weapon repair and schematics. Troubleshoots locks and locking devices and makes necessary repairs using a variety of hand and power tools as they relate to carpentry, electricity, and masonry. Works with electric and electronic analysis meters for use in analyzing door interlocks and troubleshooting electrical and electronic problems. Maintains the armory where institution weapons and ammunition are stored, handled and prepared for transportation as needed.
