Job Description
Role Overview: The Lead Cable Cribbing Person is a senior cable handler who provides on-site leadership within the cable crib (barge cable pan). This position works alongside the crew, setting the pace and technique for safely coiling a long fiber-optic submarine cable. Acting as the in-crib team lead, this person ensures each cable loop is properly laid and communicates directly with the Shift Crew Lead and L3Harris’s technical supervisor for any immediate adjustments.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct and lead the cable handling process inside the barge’s cable pan. Orchestrate the continuous “walking” of cable loops around the 30’ diameter crib, maintaining proper spacing and layering.
Set the work tempo: signal to cable handlers when to slow, stop, or adjust as needed to synchronize with the cable feed rate from machinery.
