An expert member of the perinatal health care team who is knowledgeable, skilled and experienced in lactation and breastfeeding management. Coordinates and provides education, assistance and support to breastfeeding women and infants.Participates in the development, implementation and reinforcement of evidence-base care through programs and projects which achieve departmental goals in accordance to breastfeeding regulatory/professional standards and public health initiatives .

Job Responsibilities:

Applies research findings that support lactating mothers and/or their breastfeeding babies.

Participates in the management of the Breast Pump Rental and Supply Program.

Functions as a respectful member of the health care team.

Demonstrates knowledge of the organizations Service Standards and incorporates them into performance responsibilities.

Coordinates breastfeeding program, including maintenance of the warm line.
