Job Summary
Bowdoin College has a full-time, academic year, benefits-eligible Laboratory Instructor position available beginning the fall semester of 2026. The Neuroscience program is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to work closely with supervising faculty to teach laboratory sections in courses that will include Neurophysiology, Neuropharmacology and related Neuroscience lab courses.
Responsibilities include experimental design, laboratory preparation (the generation of laboratory handouts, preparing experimental solutions, maintaining equipment/instrumentation, and providing for the collection and disposal of all laboratory waste), presenting pre-lab lectures, supervising laboratory sections, scaffolding exploratory student-led research projects (within the context of a course), supervising student assistants, providing guidance abou...
