SUMMARY OF POSITION
:
Draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research. May explain the procedure to patients and assist in the recovery of patients with adverse reactions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
High School Diploma or equivalentProof of one of the following:
Completion of a Phlebotomy training programCompletion of medical assistant programCompletion of an internship/training program that included venipuncture, skin puncture, patient preparation and post collection transportation/processingCurrently/actively enrolled in an RN or LPN programSix (6) months of Phlebotomy experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):One (1) year of patient care experience working in the healthcare fieldWHY PENN STATE HEALTH?
