Overview
A Finance Manager responsible for leading a team of accountants and accounts payable professionals and improving the effectiveness of financial systems, processes, information and advice for the Ministry of Māori Development.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Finance, Property and Procurement team, building capability and managing the workload of accountants (both financial and management) and accounts payable staff.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the General Manager, Finance, Property & Procurement, providing timely, accurate financial information and advice to Ministers, Executive Leadership, Budget managers and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Treasury financial reporting requirements and adherence to GAAP and NZ IFRS standards.
- Maintain and meet all tax obligations and provide necessary financial information for the Ministry’s accounting and accountability documents.
