Role Responsibilities:
The Alberta Court of Justice and Alberta Justice welcome the interest of qualified lawyers who wish to be considered for appointment as a full-time or part -time Justice of the Peace. Applications are being sought for various locations across the province on an on-going basis.
Applicants must be a Canadian citizen and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta, with a minimum of five years of related experience at the Bar. To be considered eligible, applicants must go through a screening process and be recommended for appointment by the Judicial Council and the Alberta Judicial Nominating Committee.
Applicants will be considered on the basis of criteria such as integrity, professional excellence, community and social awareness, cultural sensitivity, and personal suitability. Appointments are for a ten-year term.<...
