1. Responsible to the for planning organisation and development of nursing services in the hospital in consultation with Medical Superintendent / Chief of centers
2. Manage patient care to the highest professional standards, using an evidence-based care planning approach

3. Evaluate and manage the implementation of best practice policies and procedures

4. Create a good learning environment by keeping updated with new developments in nursing and palliative care and by supporting and encouraging open discussion

5. Ensure compliance with legal and professional requirements in clinical practice and documentation etc

6. Supervise staff during shifts.

7. Create a budget for the department

8. Respond to patients' complaints or concerns

9. Utilize available resources in giving patient care

10. Schedule shifts for the nurses and assign duties to them
