**Description:**

**Purpose:** An informatics pharmacist (IT pharmacist) bridges pharmacy practice and information technology to optimize medication management, electronic health records (EHR), and patient safety. They design, implement, and maintain technology systems—such as automated dispensing cabinets and computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems—to improve efficiency.
