Intermediate Geotechnical Technician – Field Services – Major Projects

Based in Fort McMurray, Alberta , this full‑time role offers hands‑on exposure to complex geotechnical field programs and major infrastructure projects in the Oil Sands region.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring site‑specific HSE policies and standard operating procedures are consistently followed.
• Monitor geotechnical drilling programs, instrumentation installations, and core sample recovery activities.
• Classify soil and bedrock samples and perform field testing of soils, bedrock, and groundwater.
• Install and maintain geotechnical instrumentation supporting slope stability and foundation investigations.
• Collect readings from geotechnical instruments such as inclinometers, ShapeAccelArrays (SAA), and vibrating wire instruments.
