About the Role

We are looking for a motivated Specialist Intensivist to provide effective and high‑quality care to the Northland community. The successful candidate will work in the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, participate in teaching and training resident medical staff, and be actively involved in the consultant on‑call roster for ICU. The Intensive Care Unit is a modern nine‑bed department that receives 525 patient admissions per year, with over 40% mechanically ventilated. The unit provides an ICU outreach service and is accredited for training by the College of Intensive Care Medicine. Currently, eight Intensivists contribute to a 1:9 roster, supported by eight registrars and one SHO providing 24/7 cover.
