Duties & Responsibilities

Job purpose:

The objective of pricing is to guide the business in setting the cost of a service to the company’s existing or potential customers. Identify and qualify potential new customers in the sales territory and turn this into increased business for the company. Develop and maintain relationships to achieve or exceed revenue goals.

Send accurate and complete freight quotations in response to inquiries made by sales staff within the quotation turnaround time set by the department manager.

Contact shipping lines and airlines for freight rates based on the destination/transit time requirements provided by the customer.

Maintain and update the pricing database and submit related monthly reports in an accurate and timely manner.

Develop and continuously expand a local network of carriers and a global network of agents to ensure the best route, pricing, and other freight options possible for customers.
