Summary Inspects assigned work area to evaluate cleaning needs: determine what must be done, what routine equipment and supplies are needed and whether unusual or special equipment or supplies are needed. Work is performed in accordance with established housekeeping and aseptic techniques. Responsibilities Train other housekeeping aids on proper use of equipment and chemicals. Maintains current knowledge and answers questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Assures the safety and housekeeping rules are followed. The majority of the housekeeping assignments involve working in the immediate vicinity of patients, visitors, and other staff.
