Overview:
The Hospitalist Program at Johns Hopkins Hospital is a group of more than 50 faculty, 12-14 APP, and 5-6 support staff embedded within the Department of Medicine. The group's mission includes patient care, education, research, and clinical administration.
Hospitalist Program: Scope of Clinical Activities
The group's current clinical activities include: Direct care services, a hospitalist-run Resident-covered general medical service (Brancati Service), Consultative activities (Consult service), Comanagement services (Orthopedic Surgery Co-management and Oncology Solid Tumor Co-management), Medicine Progressive Care Unit (MPC), Flex hospitalist program, and Hopkins Access Line coverage. The Hospitalist Unit and Brancati Service, combined, carry up to 90 inpatients at a time.
