Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Harrow

Full Time – position starting Autumn 2026.

Key Responsibilities of an HLTA

• Provide whole‑class cover, delivering pre‑planned lessons and maintaining continuity of learning in the teacher’s absence.
• Take full responsibility for classroom management, ensuring a calm, structured, and purposeful learning environment.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies, in line with the school’s policies, to support positive pupil conduct.
• Lead and manage learning activities and interventions, including working with pupils with SEN and additional needs.
• Adapt lessons in real‑time to ensure all pupils remain engaged and supported.
• Work closely with teaching staff to prepare resources, follow planning, and provide feedback on pupil progress.
• Support the wider school ethos around inclusion, equity, and high expectations for all learners.
