**Job Summary and Qualifications**

**The histology technician process surgical pathology specimens and body fluids for review by pathologists. In addition to routine processing, the histotechnician must be proficient in the cutting of frozen sections, special stains and immunohistochemical stains. Other requirements include the processing of send-out tests, routine maintenance on equipment, quality control and the maintenance of files and records.**
