Position Purpose
The Histology Technician performs all routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for microscopic evaluation by both pathologists and Mohs surgeons.
Schedule
Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-3:30 PM or 7:30am-4:00PM
Role and Responsibilities
Perform routine histology procedures including: specimen grossing, embedding, processing, slide preparation, H&E staining, special stainingMaintain the quality of all histology specimens, including verification of blocks and slides to case numbers to ensure correct patient labelingCorrectly prepare special stains and solutionsPerforms routine maintenance, and troubleshoots equipment issuesParticipate in MOHs, if not trained, training will be providedAdheres to quality control policiesPerforms other duties as assignedQualifications and Education Requirements
