Summary About the Position: Works alone or with other electricians to maintain the electrical utilities along the C&D Canal and at the Chesapeake City, MD. Project office. Uses a comprehensive knowledge of electrical principals and practices to install, repair and maintain a 7200 volt aerial lighting system along the canal, the electrical systems on four high-level highway bridges over the canal and the facilities at the project office. Responsibilities Install, modify, test, repair, troubleshoot and maintain transformers, cables, switches, circuit breakers, fused cutouts, lightning arrestors, ground connections and related mechanical and electronic equipment Work on aerial and underground cable systems to locate shorts, opens, grounds, crosses and electrolysis damage Locate and mark underground utilities prior to excavation.
