Position Overview
The Role:
The post holder will drive the waste collection vehicles in a safe manner whilst providing advice and assistance to members of the public regarding waste collection services.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive and manoeuvre the vehicle to the collection points of all refuse containersDepending on operations either:Empty contents of the vehicle at the landfill site or the Community Recycling CentreDrive vehicle to landfill site, composting or recycling plants as appropriate and offload contents in accordance with procedures in place at the relevant facilitiesSupervision of assigned operatives. Ensure that assigned operatives fulfil their duties in full and in accordance with established proceduresEnsure the safety and security of the waste collection vehicle and carry out checks each morning using the relevant check sheet and report any defects or damage to the vehicle to the Mechanics/Operations Supervi...
