Position Overview
Job Responsibilities - Assists in the physical admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
- Assist to orient new patients to the assigned bed and facilities in the ward.
- Performs the following daily basic patient care procedures / activities:
- Assess, monitor, record and report abnormal vital signs;
- Perform blood glucose monitoring (if trained);
- Administer Oxygen therapy;
- Serve feeds/meals and assist patients who are unable to feed themselves;
- Perform enteral tube feeding;
- Record intake and output;
- Collect sputum, urine and stool specimens;
- Take patient’s weight;
- Assist the patient with personal hygiene, e.g., toilet baths, bed sponging changing of diapers, care of the skin and hair;
- Lift, turn and position bed bound patients 2 hourly;
- Offer and collect bedpan/urinals for non-ambulant patients;
