Duties and Responsibilities

Read and interpret construction drawingsUse GPS and other survey instruments to establish correct line and gradeIdentify any conflicts and report to site supervisorWork with engineers and surveyors to solve problemsAchieve correct grade by directing operators of equipment to adjust grade by moving earth, gravel, and other materialsMeasure distances from reference points or offsets to accurately install utilitiesLead and supervise the grading crew, including equipment operators, laborers, and subcontractors.Assign tasks and responsibilities to crew members based on project needs and individual skills.Enforce strict safety protocols and ensure that all crew members follow safety regulations and guidelines.Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks to discuss potential hazards and preventive measures.
