Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Study technical drawings and specifications to determine suitable materials, methods, and sequences of operations, including machine settings.
- Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assemble metal parts and subassemblies to reinforcement cages and panels.
- Check fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments.
- Set guides, stops, and other controls on jigs to ensure production consistency.
- Form metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore, and drill metal.
- Erect products at the factory for assembly checks and quality assurance as required.
Required Skills and Experience
- Qualifications: AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
