Electroplate/Anodise Operator

Based at South West Metal Finishing, Exeter (travel to other SWMF sites and supplier sites occasionally).

Reporting to the Process Team Leader.

Hard chrome, Silver, copper, ENP, cadmium, Zinc Nickel, Passivation, Chromic, Sulphuric, hard anodising – this list is not exhaustive.

Responsibilities

• Load components onto jig fixtures.
• Load and unload jigs into acid, alkaline and plating chemical solutions.
• Set temperature, voltage and current controls.
• Mask off areas that don’t require plating, using masking agents, bungs and tapes.
• Dip or brush products with chemical solutions.
• Monitor the electroplating process.
• Carry out basic quality checks.
• De-jig components from jig assemblies.
• Remove masking agents using mechanical and chemical methods.
