Newport School District Custodian

Custodians are responsible for the repair, maintenance, construction, cleanliness, and safety of all district facilities and grounds. Their mission is to maintain the school's physical facilities in a condition of cleanliness and safety.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Reports To

Custodian Evening Supervisor or Maintenance and Facilities Manager

Essential Duties

• Perform all activities that are custodial in nature and deemed appropriate by Facilities Director or Administration.
• Keep buildings and grounds neat and clean at all times.
• Clean and maintain all assigned workspaces and equipment.
• Operate all essential Custodial equipment. Example: buffers, scrubbers, wet/dry vacuums, wet mops, dry mops, floor scrapers, snowblowers, lawnmowers, hand trucks, dollies.
