**Description:**

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, assists nursing staff with various patient care activities. Adheres to MercyOne’s performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

**Shift:** Rotating/mixed (12-hour shift), Part Time 12 hours a week

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

Provides safe, personal care to patients.

+ Responds to patient call lights quickly.

+ Under the direction of nursing staff,assistsin providing care.

+ Prepares food for patients.

+ PerformsEKG’s.

+ Assistsin orienting patients/families tohospitalenvironment.

+ Answers patient and family questions and refers appropriately.

+ Assistsin safekeeping of patient belongings.

Maintains clean, organized patient rooms and work areas.
