Embryologist Job Summary The Embryologist performs assisted reproduction technology (ART) laboratory techniques for reproductive health procedures. Independently performs key projects and procedures within the laboratory. This position will be expected to successfully, and independently, perform some of the following procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures and quality control processes: oocyte retrieval, insemination, pronuclear assessment, embryo culture, gamete genetic diagnosis (PGD), and semen analysis. The Embryologist will also evaluate clinical specimens, prepare samples, select specimens for transfer, oversee development of specimens, assessing growth and quality. Participation in and support for research projects conducted by the faculty members in the division is also expected. Due to the nature of work, flexibility in schedule is a requirement.
