Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Delegate and prioritize pick-up of freight to ensure movement of freight to outer terminals can be done efficiently. Communicate with Operations Manager when required to ensure quality decisions. Oversee the daily operations of the dispatch department, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of goods. Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and customers to schedule and track shipments. Utilize transportation management systems to optimize routes and minimize costs. Communicate with carriers and freight forwarders to arrange pickups and deliveries.
