Mandated by BNM’s Credit Risk Policy to act as Independent Credit Reviewer for Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Malaysia Berhad (SMBC MY).
To review and ensure:
Quality of credit risk assessment and rigour of credit approval processes, including in respect of the scope of information obtained for credit decisions;
Credit decisions are in accordance with the SMBC MY’s credit risk strategy, credit risk policy, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements;
Scope, effectiveness and timeliness of credit risk monitoring activities;
Accuracy and timeliness of ratings assigned to counterparties; and
Appropriateness of credit classifications and provisioning levels.
Job Responsibilities
To prepare and plan Individual Credit Review Plan and Annual Credit plan based on a sound understanding of the credit risk concentration of SMBC MY.
