Responsibilities

Design and validate silicon photonics chips for high-speed optical transmitters and receivers, balancing performance, cost, and reliability requirements. Define photonic integrated circuit layouts (GDS) and collaborate with wafer fabrication partners on design verification, production, and delivery. Lead and contribute to photonic circuit design reviews prior to release to manufacturing. Support module prototyping, test definition, and transfer of designs to high-volume production in partnership with operations and manufacturing teams. Drive continuous improvements in performance, yield, and reliability across the full product life cycle. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver prototypes and production products based on Ciena’s silicon photonics platform. Monitor, document, and communicate technical progress while proactively identifying risks impacting specifications, schedules, or budgets. Must‑Haves
