Job Description

News planning and coordination

• Coordinate with Resident Editor, reporters, bureau chiefs, and photographers to plan edition content.
• Constantly track developing stories and ensure timely follow-up and coverage.
• Coordinate with the national news desk in Chennai and deliver national stories at the earliest.
• Coordinate with the internet desk, in line with our online first policy.

Editing and layout

• -Edit and fact-check copy for clarity, accuracy, grammar, and adherence to the publication’s style.
• -Plan layout, design and execute pages.
• -Write compelling headlines, captions, and blurbs.
• -Ensure logical story flow and appropriate trimming to fit page space.
