The role involves preparing and delivering meals for the vessel crew, overseeing galley operations, and ensuring food safety, cost control, and crew wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare quality meals for the crew, ensuring proper nutrition and timely service.
- Maintain the highest hygiene and safety standards in the galley.
- Manage meal production costs to stay within budgetary limits.
- Lead the galley team, fostering teamwork and crew support.
Requirements
- Proven experience in quality cooking, food preparation, and meal planning on a vessel.
- Experience with volume‑based cooking.
- Food safety knowledge and skills.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
- Permanent residency in New Zealand is required.
