Cytotechnologist (Per Diem)

Purpose of Position: To perform the duties and responsibilities of a Cytotechnologist including specific administrative functions as defined.

Description:

1. Ensures the satisfaction of all users of the department's services, both internal and external and seeks to continually improve customer service and satisfaction.

2. Screens an average minimum 60 slides/day prepared from both gynecological and non-gynecological sources and sign out results of the highest possible quality.

3. Responsible for documenting: 1) The slide interpretation results of each case examined or reviewed, 2) For each 24 hour period, the total number of slides examined or reviewed in all laboratories 3) The number of hours spent examining slides in each 24 hour period.

4. Prepares monthly work statistics.

5. Serves as technical reference for physicians and other health care professionals.
