The full-time Cytotechnologist will support the day-to-day operations of the Cytopathology Laboratory within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.


The incumbent will:


+ Prepares and microscopically examines slides of human cell samplings for the presence of disease or other abnormality.

+ Receive, accession, and process GYN and Non-GYN specimens, blocks, and slides.

+ Assist FNA and biopsy procedures and perform quick adequacy assessment.

+ Monitor incoming phone inquiries and requests.

+ Handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.

+ Maintain and organizes laboratory supplies. Monitor inventory levels and prepare simple reagents as needed.
