_The UPMC Hamot CVICU_ is a 16-bed unit on the second floor of the new patient care tower. Our unit specializes in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery; cardiogenic shock; cardiac arrest and stroke patients. The exceptional care provided in this unit contributes to UPMC Hamot's certification as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center. CVICU also holds the distinction as a Gold Level Beacon Award of Excellence recipient, representing not only excellence in patient care but also an incredible work environment.
