Position Overview
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Collects pertinent medical information and reviews physician's order to identify reason for examination and potential contraindications
- Explains procedure to patient and ensures consent form is signed if required for examination.
- Positions patient, administers oral or intravenous contrast as required.
- Monitors patient reaction and responds to adverse reactions with emergency procedures as necessary.
- Selects equipment parameters and logs pertinent information.
- Performs scanning procedure.
- Modifies parameters as required to improve visualization of desired anatomy.
- May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required.
