This post offers the opportunity for a committed and ambitious clinician to join the NHS Lanarkshire Medicine for Older Adults department based at University Hospital Wishaw. The candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of Medicine for Older Adults care but especially with a focus on acute frailty. We are also keen for the successful candidate to develop any subspecialty interest they may have.

Acute Medicine for Older Adults services are provided on all three acute Lanarkshire hospital sites. These include acute frailty assessment and rehabilitation for these patients as well as Hospital at Home service. However, University Hospital Wishaw is the trauma centre for NHS Lanarkshire so the majority of the orthogeriatrics service is based within UHW. There is also an acute stroke ward located within the department which delivers acute stroke care and rehabilitation.
