The CMS Experiment is one of the four large experiments at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Operational for more than 15 years, the CMS detector is one of the most advanced and complex scientific instruments ever created. Amongst many extraordinary results, CMS announced the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 and has since made ultra-precise measurements of its behaviour, leading to a better understanding of the universe. CMS is actively searching for βnew physicsβ and will soon undergo a series of extensive and ground-breaking upgrades to then operate until the early 2040s. Sharing the achievements and technologies, as well as the collaborative nature of the work, is one of the fundamental tenets of CMS - and of CERN in general.
